SparkScribe

Lecture notes

Turn a lecture recording into notes you can study.

Upload the recording of a class. SparkScribe transcribes it on your device, then writes a summary and organized notes from what was actually said, each point linked to the moment in the recording.

Free plan: 30 minutes of transcription a month, no card needed. Your audio stays on your device.

How it works

  1. Upload the recordingAudio or video, for example M4A, MP3, MP4, WAV or WebM, including recordings that are hours long.
  2. Transcribed on your deviceSpeech recognition runs in your browser, with speakers and timestamps. Your audio is never uploaded.
  3. Get the summary and notesSave it to your library, then open the summary and notes, organized by topic.

What you get

Notes that point back to the lecture

Every point links to the moment it was said, so you can check the exact wording before an exam.

Ask about the lecture

Ask a question and get an answer from the transcript, with the timestamps it comes from. If the lecture doesn’t say, SparkScribe tells you.

Fix what was misheard

Edit the transcript and name the speakers. Study material made from an older version is marked as possibly out of date.

Organize by course

Group lectures into courses like “Biology 201”, search across everything, and pick up where you left off.

Questions

Is my lecture audio uploaded?

No. The recording is transcribed inside your browser. Only the transcript text you save is stored in your account, and an AI feature sends only the transcript text it needs.

Which languages work?

English only for now. Other languages may be transcribed poorly or not at all.

How accurate is it?

It depends on the audio. A clear recording near the speaker works best; noisy rooms and unusual names cause mistakes. You can correct the transcript, and every note links to the moment it came from so you can check.

Is it free?

The Free plan includes 30 minutes of transcription a month with the study tools. Paid plans add more time.
